How does it work?

Dog Walking

Why Choose Pet Guardians

While most dog walking services provide a “group” walk where your dog(s) are walked with several others, they often charge a lot more to walk your dog(s) on their own. This is because it is cheaper to walk multiple dogs at the same time.

Every dog is different and some have more quirks than others. Some dogs dislike certain breeds or large/small dogs, some just don’t like a particular dog on sight for no apparent reason. Others dislike bicycles, yellow jackets, skateboards, men, women or children. Some eat inappropriate items such as faeces, others are overly possessive of people, toys or treats.

For this reason Pet Guardians do not walk more than one clients’ dog(s) at the same time. We feel that by giving just your dogs’ our full attention we can cater for any dislikes or problems. Your dog(s) will be slowly introduced to other dogs (if permitted) that are already known to us so that they can meet up and play together. These dogs are known to be friendly with a wide range of breeds, sizes and temperments.

Not only does this service cater for doggy dislikes but it also means that you are getting greater value for your money as our attention is focused solely on your pet and no-one elses.

Because we walk all dogs individually, we can also offer 30 and 45 minute walks in addition to hour walks so that dog walking is affordable for even those on the tightest of budgets. For just the price of a magazine, drink down the pub and less than a packet of cigarettes, you can have your dog walked for 30 minutes by Pet Guardians.

The Introduction Meeting

Before we start walking any dog, we like to meet the dog and it's owners to discuss both your requirements and your dog's.

We will come and meet you and your dog(s) at a pre-arranged time so that we can get to know your dog(s) and vice versa. It also gives you a chance to ask us any questions you may have and discuss your pet's requirements.

We also require that you complete a questionnaire which will provide details regarding your dog's health, vaccinations, vet details and your contact information.

You can download a copy of the questionnaire below to complete before our visit, if you prefer. Both forms must be completed prior to looking after your pet(s).

What happens next?

Once we have completed our introduction, your dog will be walked on his own for the first time so that he/she can get used to the walker and vice versa. After this first walk, your dog will slowly be introduced to other known dogs that he/she may be meeting on a regular basis. We do not walk dogs in a pack unless they are from the same household.

What's included?

We provide poo bags, water (in hot weather) and treats (if allowed) all you need to provide is the dog!

We offer 30 minute, 45 minute and 60 minute walks to suit all needs starting at just £6 for 30 minutes. Each additional dog from the same houshold incurs an small additional fee, just £1.50 extra for the 30 minute walk, (see Services for full price list) they are not charged at full price.

No Additional Charges

We do not charge for mileage to collect or drop off your dogs.

We do not demand deposits or charge for cancellations.

We do not charge to pick up or drop off keys.

We do not charge extra for evenings/weekends/bank or public holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

While we do not require deposits or charge for cancellations, we do not appreciate having our time wasted. Introduction meetings are made during our limited free time so please be reasonably sure that you actually want someone to walk your dog(s) rather than have a friend/neighbour do it prior to contacting us and not after.

If, after the meeting, you decide you do not want to go ahead for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your slot to other new clients.

Unfortunately, we are unable to take female dogs in heat or dogs that are not up-to-date with their vaccinations. We prefer dogs to have been microchipped but will accept those without.

Please see our Terms & Conditions.
